Management and Life Lessons from Lord Ganesha

Management and Life Lessons from Lord Ganesha
Lord Ganesha signifies the powers of intellect, mind and control over evil. Many interesting stories signify the embodiment of Lord Ganesha's power. Each of His body parts symbolizes the meaningful direction for being a perfect manager in our personal and professional life. Here is a very interesting story

Story1

Kartikeya and Ganesha who ones contested in a competition organized by their parent. As per the rules, the one who would complete seven circles moving around the world first would be declared the winner. Kartikeya called on his peacock and started the long and tedious journey.

But Ganesha responded in an altogether different manner. He mounted on his mouse and went around his parents seven times in no time. He convinced his brother that his parent was the world for him. By the time Kartikeya returned, he had already lost the race!

Moral of the story: One should be swift and smart in the modern competitive race. One should not be fast in speed but in decision making also as in the story, Ganesha did not make rounds of the earth but He analyzed the situation and played out of the box.

As a manager, we should think differently and out of the box if we would like to differentiate from the competition.

Life Lesson: Nobody is more important than one's parents

Story2:

Once the moon laughed at Lord Ganesha when he was on the rat and moon laughed but Lord Ganesha convinced the moon that rat is one of the most flexible and intelligent The carriage of lord Ganesha advises that efficiency and speed can be achieved only when one is flexible. Rigid & stiff ones can’t even cross physical barriers. The mouse is a small, ugly, and restless creature who may wander unnecessarily in darker and access unreachable places.

Moral for Managers: Managers must learn that it is not the size that matters in the success but the consistent learning, adaptability and attitude that decides the growth in your career. Efficient managers are continuous learners and upgrade themselves as per the ever-changing demands.

Story3:

Once King Abhinandan performed ‘Indra Bhaag Shunya’ yajna. Indra was not invited in the yajna. Indra became angry and annoyed. He prayed to Kalpurush to make his yajna unsuccessful. To destroy the yajna of Abhinandan, Kalpurush incarnated in the form of Vighnasur. Vighnasur means one who puts obstacles in the way. kalpurush started destroying the auspicious yajna..He killed Abhinandan. Vashishtha and other rishis were much tensed thinking that if so many obstacles are put in the way by Asur while a person is doing yajna than who will do holy deeds? In tension, they went to Brahmaji. Brahmaji told them that they should praise Lord Ganesh. Now, Vashishtha and other rishis praised and invoked Lord Ganesh. Lord Ganesh was pleased and he defeated Vighnasur. Vighnasur took refuge in Lord Ganesh. Thereafter, Lord Ganesh is named ‘Vighnaraj’.

Moral for Managers: Obstacles are made to be crossed over. It just requires confidence and belief to be able to do so. The right attitude can set right the biggest challenges in life.  Your future is the result of your present actions. As such we learn to take ownership of all our actions. This God of beginning instills faith in human beings. Faith is the biggest resource of confidence. Ganesha Management Strategy inspires us to be successful leaders – the ones who can make people around us confident and comfortable. A leader should be capable to inspire people by his mere presence, like Ganesha.
