Today is a very auspicious day "Ganesh Chaturthi". Lord Ganesha is the symbol of education, wisdom, good fortune and prosperity.  Lord Ganesh is also known as Gajanan, Dhoomraketu, Ekdanta, Vakrtunda, Siddhi.

Come Ganapati festival and you would see various idols of Lord Ganesha’s being worshipped across the country. One specific observation is that every idol of God is highly decorated, well ornamented and painted in the brightest of the colours.  God is never seen alone, these are sweets (laddu’s), the green grass, the mouse, the garland and various other accessories always courting the idol.
